This blog contains helpful information and practical guidelines to assist you in recognizing potential claims and conducting thorough investigations in Auto Defect Cases. Any case involving very serious injury or death warrants a thorough investigation of the vehicle. A vehicle defect may be the true cause of the crash or be responsible for the enhanced injury or death following the initial impact. Taking the time to conduct a focused vehicle inspection from the beginning will ensure that you haven’t overlooked valid and meritorious claims involving a defect in the vehicle.

The Checklists are designed for you to use as a guide to enable you, your support staff, and/or your investigator to recognize the potential defect claims when investigating a motor vehicle accident. The checklist covers four areas of investigation: (1) the vehicle; (2) the occupants and witnesses; (3) the scene; and (4) research, as they apply to a particular type of defect.
There are also “Topics” dealing with recent Appellate Decisions, Jury Verdicts, and Settlements in the area of products liability, specifically relating to auto defect cases. This blog contains the full text of all appellate cases cited herein that pertain to products liability cases. Simply scroll your cursor over the item, click on it, and the full text will appear.
The center column of this blog (the section you are now reading) may change depending upon where you are in the blog. If you are on the HOME page, the center consists of a series of “Posts” in chronological order (most-recent on top) concerning recent news, case law, and developments in the field of products liability.
